Modern athnical situation in Khanty-Mansijsky region of Khanty-Mansijsk autonomous okrug (based on the data on field investigations)

There are analyzed the problems of modern state of ethnical traditions taking place among the khanties — native peoples of Khanty-Mansijsk region of KhMAO. The data on ethnical composition of population are stated. There are considered the assimilation processes taking place at present among the native peoples, among them: increasing of mixed marriages, practically absolute lost of the native language and elements of traditional culture. At the same time there is fixed the statistical increase in number of the native population due to the registration of children born from the mixed marriages as khanty stipulated the state policy of favour to autochtonous population.

To the problem of studying of common law among the aborigional people of West Siberia

It is carried out a theoretical analysis of the term “common law” and the problem of common law historiography among the native peoples of West Siberia is arised. It is marked, in particular that special investigations of this problem having been very popular in XIX — beginning of XX centuries practically stopped in the soviet period and only during the last two decades they began to attract attention of specialists in hystory. Analysing the field materials the author makes a conclusion that common-law standards remain among the native peoples of West Siberia at present which makes them possible to be studied by ethnographical methods.

Maussoleum of Mussulman saints in the region of Isker

There are considered the monuments revering by tobol tatars as mausoleums of Mussulman saints (“astana”). The author analyzes the data on the last ages about the mentioned objects, traces the more archaic, pagan elements in the given complex of ideas making a conclusion on the late inclusion of astana into the Mussulman tradition.

To the problem of cult places of tazovsky selcupy

The paper is devoted to one of the most important aspects of traditional world outlook of selkupy. The basic attention is paid to the category of cult places which are the natural objects (lakes, hills, parts of forest) and are considered the places of spirits inhabitance. The author analyzes their world outlook meaning, attributes and cult practice, marks the absence of special cult buildings in such sacred places that testifies to the deep archaism of selkup world outlook.

The peculiarities of lyapinsky komi-zyryan population traditional culture

The article is devoted to the problems of settling in the middle of the XIX century on the river Lyapin the group of izhemtsy-reindeer breeders chàracteristic of elements of their husbandry, material and spiritual culture. It is given a comparative analysis of traditional culture elements connected with nomadic way of life and settled life.

Funeral ceremony of eastern khanty: peculiarities of correlation with ancestors' spirits (field investigstions of ethnocultural region of the Pim river)

It is generalized a new field material gathered by the author among the pimskaya group of khanty. There are considered structure and procedure of funeral ceremony, world outlook comprehension of mutual relations of alive people and their dead ansestors, a special role of cemetary as a special cult object. Based on the concrete material there is made an attempt to compare world outlook traditions of the khanties with the common logic of development of “primitive thinking” differing to the author’s opinion in the first place by high ecology (in a wide sense of meaning).
