Perspectives of using zooarchaeological methods regarding siberian archaeological complexes of XVII–XIX cc.
The article considers a possibility of using zooarchaeological methods for studying faunal materials from Siberian Russian complexes of XVII–XIX cc., including determination of faunal species, quantitative analysis, reconstruction of loss seasons, and methods of animals’ dressing. Besides, the paper quotes certain results on zooarchaeological investigations of faunal complexes from Russian settlements, with a description of advantages, perspectives and problems working with faunal osteological remains which are necessary for reconstruction of economic life and diet with Russian settlers in Siberia.
